Trains are awesome. Even the dingiest car in the NJ Transit fleet has something romantic about it, despite the smell. Doug Aitken's train is considerably more impressive. This public art project stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific, making nine site-specific stops along the way. Loads of famous artists are involved (apparently Thurston Moore will be appearing in Chicago), and there are rumors of delicious food. This sold-out Brooklyn event features indie-rock mainstays Ariel Pink and No Age, as well as the all-star experimental trio of Boredoms drummer Yoshimi P-We (billed here as YOSHIMIO), Hisham Akira Bharoocha and Ryan Sawyer.
