Divine Times Collective is hosting its third annual Pan-Afro Wisdom Fest (POW Fest), an immersive festival centering Black and especially Black queer individuals across the African diaspora. Free activities run on August 17 from 12pm to 7pm at the Herbert Von King Park Amphitheater in Brooklyn.
POW Fest encourages the community to participate in cultural exchange and community-led growth, offering workshops led by artists, therapists and social workers including yoga, natural dyeing, holistic resources, creative therapy and more. Activities include a laughter meditation led by Laraaji, performances by Cleo Reed, Rocki Ozai and Roselle, plus childhood games at the Free Play Zone.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a small gift for the community altar, like a poem, photo, flower, stone, written names of ancestors, incense or anything meaningful to you. Plus, if you donate $10 you'll be entered in a raffle to win prizes and opportunities for memberships to Pioneer Works or BAM.
