“Jackie Saccoccio: Degree of Tilt”

This combined Upper East Side/Lower East Side exhibition at 11R and Van Doren Waxter showcases Saccoccio’s latest paintings, her most ambitious to date. Drips and fingerlike tendrils of liquid color flow in all directions across the surface of these abstract compositions, the result of of Saccoccio repeatedly rotating, tipping and rubbing together her canvases while the pigment is still wet. Glowing and menacing all at once, Saccoccio’s work blends the toxic with the sublime.
