Harper’s Magazine Presents Monsters: A Celebration of Villainy, Exploitation, and Abuse

This Halloween reading features three contributors from Harper's Magazine—Christine Schutt, Wells Tower and Téa Obreht—reading selections from the magazine as well as their own work. We're looking forward to Obreht's article "The Twilight of the Vampires," in which she explores the differences between American and Serbian vampire culture. The Serbs may have invented them, but we're taking full credit for Wesley Snipes in Blade. Instead of an admission fee, attendees are requested to bring one book to donate to the Housing Works bookstore.
