Since 2018, the Creole Food Festival has showcased the culinary prowess of Black and brown chefs from across the diaspora—including cuisines found across Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, South America and the South. The festival plans to do it all again for its eighth year, bringing the vibes back to Brooklyn.
This year's Creole Food Festival is going down right under the Brooklyn Bridge at Emily Warren Roebling Plaza on October 3 and 4. The weekend-long festival will include a Creole brunch, live music and the pièce de résistance: the grand tasting. Held on Saturday, October 3, the grand tasting will feature cuisines from across the diaspora, with chefs hailing from Barbados, Haiti and Venezuela. Showcasing their culture through food, 11 chefs will be in attendance, including three-time winner of Food Network's Chopped, chef Adriana Urbina; Forbes' "30 Under 30" and winner of Food Network's Beat Bobby Flay, chef Osei “Picky” Blackett of Everything Oxtail and another Chopped champion, chef Airis Johnson.
