A Midsummer Night's Dream

Mark Dornford-May directs South Africa's Isango Ensemble in his adaptation of Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears's opera, based on Shakespeare’s classic farce about a bossy Bottom who falls into a wild world of drugged-up fairy sex. A cast of 25 weaves African languages, folklore and music into the texture of the work.
