Dianne Wiest and John Turturro lead a basically perfect cast in Andrei Belgrader's deeply satisfying staging of Chekhov's final "comedy." In fact, a lot's funny here: clownish pratfalls, Turturro's amusing apoplexies, characters breaking the fourth wall. But there's also that sublime Chekhovian melancholy, wistful and piercing.—David Cote
