Native Californian Ethan Morgan opened this four-station space on the Lower East Side, bringing a little West Coast flavor to the New York tattoo scene. The veteran body artist infused the shop’s interior with his love of steampunk, resulting in dark wood floors, black leather waiting benches and station chairs, gray walls and a silver tin ceiling—a classy Victorian-style look that keeps in line with the neighborhood’s turn-of-the-20th-century architecture. Morgan has been tattooing for 21 years (working at East Side Ink for the last four) and specializes in black-and-gray Photorealism pieces. But with two other full-time inkers and a rotating roster of guest needle-wielding experts, Rivington Tattoo has all your body art needs ($200 per hour) covered.
