After bringing his brand of Hellenic cooking to Astoria, Irvington and Roslyn, Michael Psilakis set his sights on Brooklyn. This new addition to the prolific restaurateur-chef's MP Taverna empire specializes in similar modern-Mediterranean fare as its forebears, with dishes like octopus with cured black-olive puree, crispy cod with garlicky skordalia spread, and a Greek orzo-based paella loaded with merguez and mussels. In Taverna fashion, the meals, as well as the 20 varieties of beer on tap, are meant to be shared in the 120-seat space, rigged with live orange trees and plenty of weathered wood.
