Prepare to find tiny pieces of Atlantic City real estate stuck to your fries again: McDonald’s Monopoly returns nationwide on October 6, bringing back the deeply satisfying ritual of peeling game pieces from fast-food packaging.
This year’s version pairs that old-school peel with app-based gameplay. Customers order an eligible menu item, remove the sticker and scan its code in the McDonald’s app to reveal a prize, property piece or Chance Card play. The promotion runs through November 1, while Chance Card gameplay continues until November 8.
The prizes extend well beyond a complimentary McChicken, too: the headline award is $1 million, paid in annual installments of $50,000 over 20 years. Other possible wins include a 2027 Jeep Cherokee, a Carnival cruise package worth $10,000, a trip for four to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and one of three Polaris vehicles.
The Chance Card game adds more prizes, including $50,000 toward a home down payment, $50,000 toward college debt, cash awards ranging from $25 to $1 million and gift cards from Grubhub, Uber Eats and Ulta Beauty. “McDonald’s for a year” is also on offer, although the prize is technically a $1,040 gift card. (That's the equivalent of $20 per week rather than unlimited access to the McFlurry machine.)
Instant wins include menu items such as McGriddles, Snack Wraps, McChicken sandwiches, shakes, smoothies and small fries, as well as 1,500 to 7,000 MyMcDonald’s Rewards points. McDonald’s lists the overall odds of winning as one in five, with the important caveat that most prizes are food.
Game pieces will appear on eligible breakfast, lunch and dinner purchases, including hash browns, McMuffin and biscuit sandwiches, Big Macs, Quarter Pounders with Cheese, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, four-piece McCrispy Strips, large fries and select large drinks.
Players must be at least 18, live in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C., join MyMcDonald’s Rewards and register for the game before playing. Ordering an eligible item through the app (or using a Rewards code when ordering) also unlocks a bonus Chance Card play.
No purchase is required, but to get a free game piece, you must mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Minnesota. Buying the fries feels a bit easier, to be honest.
