Air France is opening its biggest international lounge ever at JFK’s new Terminal One and here’s your first look

Air France is preparing to bring a serious dose of French polish—and plenty of Champagne—to JFK.

When the airline relocates to the airport’s New Terminal One next year, it will open a sprawling, two-level lounge measuring more than 29,000 square feet. The space will be Air France’s largest lounge outside Paris and the biggest in its international network, with seating for more than 400 travelers.

Early renderings show an airy interior dressed in the airline’s familiar palette of white, navy and bright red. Curving partitions, sculptural lighting and clusters of armchairs divide the open space into smaller areas and enormous windows should promise expansive views across the airfield. The lounge will include several dining areas celebrating French cuisine, as well as a bar stocked with French wines and Champagnes. Travelers will also find dedicated zones for working, relaxing and receiving beauty treatments.

Air France’s La Première passengers will get an especially luxe experience: the carrier is planning a private area for its first-class customers, complete with a menu created by an as-yet-unnamed renowned French chef. La Première travelers will also receive personalized assistance from their arrival at the terminal through boarding. A separate exclusive section will be available to top-tier Flying Blue Ultimate members.

Eligible La Première and Business passengers (excluding Business Light fares), along with Flying Blue Elite Plus members and qualifying travelers flying with KLM and other SkyTeam partners, will have access to the larger lounge.

The new facility will be roughly three times the size of Air France’s current lounge in JFK’s existing Terminal 1. Although it will rank among the airport’s largest lounges, Delta’s mammoth Delta One Lounge in Terminal 4 will remain bigger.

Air France is expected to become the largest carrier operating from the New Terminal One. During the summer, it runs as many as six daily flights between JFK and Paris–Charles de Gaulle, including four aboard Boeing 777-300ER aircraft fitted with its new La Première cabin.

JFK’s New Terminal One, part of the airport’s $19 billion redevelopment, is now expected to open during the first quarter of 2027. Other airlines slated to use the terminal include Etihad, EVA Air, SAS, Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways, which is planning a luxe lounge of its own.

Still, at nearly 30,000 square feet, Air France’s new digs may be the closest New Yorkers get to Paris before leaving the ground.
