Steve Turre

Steve Turre is the trombonist with the wicked goatee in the Saturday Night Live band, but his jazz credentials go back to his ’70s work with all-stars such as Rahsaan Roland Kirk and Woody Shaw. Here, the soulful brass man honors Kirk—the late, great multi-instrumental wonder—with help from reedist James Carter, saxist Vincent Herring and others.
