Formerly known as Lee Rozie, multi-instrumentalist Mixashawn combines an advanced grasp of jazz essentials with a deep commitment to Native American and African traditions and styles. A poised yet powerful improviser and storyteller, Mixashawn performs uptown tonight with saxist Zane Massey, bassist-violinist-poet Henry Grimes and drummer Billy Arnold.
