Mario Diaz de Leon

A composer with one foot in atmospheric black metal and the other in classical modernism, Mario Diaz de Leon plugs in his guitar to settle into a weeklong residency performing different projects each night at the Stone. Highlights include Friday night's Oneirogen set featuring a cinematic blend of dark electronic and doom metal, and Thursday night's audiovisual collaboration with Jay King that explores boundaries between filmic narrative, music video and stroboscopic abstraction.
