Lou Donaldson Quartet

A key figure in the creation of the Blue Note label, veteran altoist Lou Donaldson is as staunch a bebopper as you're likely to find anywhere, but back in the ’60s, he was responsible for several tunes that would eventually become sample fodder for enterprising hip-hop DJs ("Midnight Creeper," "Pot Belly").
