The upholstery and carpet have seen better days, and the acoustics are unflattering to orchestras. But there are few superior spaces in the city than this exquisitely programmed hall for hearing pianists, vocalists and chamber ensembles—not least MMartists in Concert, the Met’s superb resident chamber group.
