Governors Ball 2014: Our best photos from Saturday

The glorious weather held for a second day at Governors Ball, and the grateful (and painfully red-shouldered) crowds were out in force. This was the lineup that indie-rock fans had long dreamed of. Spoon, Broken Bells and headliner Jack White all served up solid sets, but the day really belonged to the Strokes, who drew the biggest—and easily most excitable—crowd of the evening. The band’s patchy live history was soon forgotten as it stormed through a packed set of old favorites and lesser-known material from its most recent record. By the time it wrapped up with “Last Nite” and an encore of “New York City Cops,” the crowd was in a frenzy—just hoping, praying that next time, the group won’t wait so long to come back. Dueling with the early-aughts icons across the field were electro acts Skrillex and Disclosure and noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells. The festival closes on Sunday with Tyler, the Creator; the Kills; Interpol; and Vampire Weekend.
