Bang on a Can: The Power of Pictures

Bassist and Bang on a Can All-Star Robert Black presents an evocative program of music from behind the Iron Curtain. The evening includes works by such renowned composers as Sofia Gubaidulina and Alfred Schnittke but the highlight will likely be Galina Ustvolskaya's remarkable Composition No. 2 for bass viol octet, piano and a vigorously pounded block of wood.
