All Vows

In her three-part All Vows, fearless cellist Maya Beiser delves into the inner world of memory and the subconscious. Opening with reimagined songs by Howlin' Wolf, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin and Nirvana, her program continues with works by Glenn Kotche, Michael Gordon and Mohammed Fairouz, then closes with an extended piece by Michael Harrison (with film by Bill Morrison). Beiser just may have reinvented the power trio for cello.
