In the first film, by Pere Portabella, former political prisoners gather in a farmhouse to discuss the spiritual death that arises from long jail time. The second movie is, of course, Jean Vigo's unqualified classic—set in a boarding school for boys—which anticipates rebellious-youth flicks of the ’60s.
