City Center goes Wilde with the U.S. premiere of a full-length work by Christopher Wheeldon (An American in Paris), commissioned and performed by the Australian Ballet. Its subject is the writer, aesthete and proto–gay rights martyr whose trial and imprisonment on charges of sodomy scandalized late-Victorian London. The work is set to an original score by Joby Talbot, performed live by the 48-piece Orchestra of St. Luke’s.
