The inside of Apartment Ra'el feels like the home of your loftiest, coolest friend who probably throws clay on the side and has a knack for finding vintage pieces on the fly.

That's because Apartment Ra'el is a lifestyle and vintage concept store in Bed-Stuy that also sells coffee. That means the decanter and mirrored ice buckets on the bookshelf, down to the curvy metal stools you may be sitting on, might be up for sale. But even if you don't plan on walking out with a baggie full of $70 candleholders and a hold on a cow print bench, you can always settle in over a cup. Your coffee can be straightforward if you want it to be, americanos, cappuccinos and cortados, with a few variations peppered in, such as a lightly sweet and nutty maple black sesame latte, matchas with subtle hints of Earl Grey and lattes with heady toppers of cream and fresh shavings of orange zest. No matter what you get, all will be served on a metal tray stamped with florals that looks like it once belonged to grandma. Take your cup to the long wooden table to click away at some afternoon work (we've seen guests take full-on Zoom calls here) or linger on the handsome chocolate couch while you pick at your cookie or croissant sourced from Bien Cuit.
