"Unpainted Paintings"

The idea of creating a painting with collage or assemblage techniques instead of plain ol’ pigment is hardly new or radical. But the selection of mostly abstract pieces here by art-historical luminaries—a gold leaf on newspaper number by Rauschenberg, for instance—is certainly a tasty one and worth a look.
