Michael Williams, "Straightforward as a Noodle"

While the show's title may sound like a contradiction, it has the virtue of being true of Williams's paintings. There is indeed something refreshingly direct about the cheery goofiness of his largely abstract canvases, broken up by occasional bits of imagery. And there's a lot of noodling around, notably in the form of colorful lines of paint meandering over backgrounds created with an airbrush.
