The development of abstract art a century ago was arguably the single greatest stylistic shift in the history of art since the Renaissance revived Greco-Roman classicism. This survey revisits the dawn of abstraction with a cross-media roundup of major works by Wassily Kandinsky, Frantisek Kupka, Francis Picabia and Robert Delaunay among many others.
