Meet the Author-Illustrator: Frank Viva

Stop by powerHouse to meet Frank Viva, the author and illustrator of two of our favorite books in recent years, Along a Long Road and, most recently, A Trip to the Bottom of the World with Mouse (out Sept 25). He'll be reading from the latter book, about the journey of a child and his friend Mouse to Antarctica, where they encounter penguins, a whale and other polar inhabitants. Viva's visual style, a cross between comics and wonderfully old-school woodcut prints, is equal parts fanciful and engaging. Ages 4 to 8.
