"Edo Pop: The Graphic Impact of Japanese Prints"

Ten international artists will showcase work in the style of the Japanese Edo period (1615-1868), grounded in a chic and playful aesthetic. The exhibition will juxtapose contemporary art against more than 100 historic ukiyo-e woodblock prints, popularized in the 17th century due to their affordability. At the exhibition's entrance, a wall-sized mural by Brooklyn-based graffiti artist AIKO will recognize current pop and urban sensibilities while referencing traditional Japanese motifs. All ages.
