That’s why Time Out has compiled this freshly curated list of the best hotels in Nashville, which includes brand new reviews of Noelle, Grand Hyatt and Virgin Hotels Nashville just in time for winter 2025.

Which area is best to stay in Nashville?

Downtown is of course the best neighborhood in Nashville to be at the forefront of all the city’s sights, but The Gulch, which is one of its newest areas, is walking distance from there, SoBro and Midtown, so is also a good base for exploring. After somewhere a bit cooler? Well, Germantown or East Nashville could be for you, but read more in our neighborhood guide

In the heart of downtown Nashville, just steps from Broadway, Noelle stands as a calm, creative retreat from the city’s constant hum. Housed in a historic Art Deco building, the boutique hotel blends vintage character with modern touches—think old-school charm, but reimagined for the stylish traveler. The marble-accented lobby feels timeless, with nods to its past woven seamlessly into its sleek, minimal design. You can start your morning with a latte at Drug Store Coffee, pop into the chic boutique for a taste of local fashion, and then step outside to explore nearby landmarks like the Ryman Auditorium and Printer’s Alley.

Rooms at Noelle strike that rare balance of sophistication and comfort. Crisp embroidered linens, plump pillows, and blackout shades invite deep rest after a night of honky-tonk hopping. The bathrooms impress with strong water pressure, luxe toiletries, and thoughtful details that mean quick showers turn into mini spa moments, and every inch feels considered yet unfussy, creating a sanctuary that’s simple, and quietly indulgent. The service mirrors that too—it’s warm and attentive without crossing into stuffy and Noelle’s staff genuinely care about improving your stay.

As for what to eat, Lona, helmed by Chef Richard Sandoval, brings bold, colorful Mexican flavors to a city known for hot chicken—think lobster quesadillas and baja-style tacos (which are, of course, worth photographing before tasting). Upstairs, Rare Bird pairs skyline views with cocktails as playful as their names, while Hidden Bar downstairs trades the sunset for speakeasy intrigue.

Time Out tip: This hotel’s central location is a blessing, but to all light sleepers, I’d recommend bringing earplugs as this part of town rarely feels peaceful.

Address: 200 Fourth Avenue N., Nashville, TN 37219
Price: Rooms’ average starting price is between $300 to $500 depending on the category

It’s hard to miss the Grand Hyatt Nashville—a gleaming 25-story tower that now anchors the city’s evolving skyline. Where once stood a scattering of modest buildings, there’s now a glitzy district which embodies just how much Nashville has evolved. Perched at the crossroads of downtown and the Gulch, this luxury hotel sits at the heart of Nashville Yards, a sleek new development home to Amazon’s offices, live music venues, and stylish urban parks. For visitors wanting the full Music City experience—steps from Broadway’s rowdy honky-tonks yet cocooned in calm sophistication—the Grand Hyatt delivers. Nearby, the Ryman Auditorium, Fifth + Broadway, and the Country Music Hall of Fame all make for easy exploration, whether you’re here for business or an evening of crawling the neighborhood bars.

Even standard rooms feel spacious, outfitted with blackout curtains, Nespresso machines, and plush beds that overlook the glittering cityscape. Suites are impressively roomy—some with separate living and sleeping areas which are perfect for longer stays or working trips. Balmain bath products and thick robes add a luxe touch, while the staff delivers seamless service at every turn—professional yet warm, from the valet to front desk. Fitness enthusiasts will love the fifth-floor gym with skyline views and Peloton bikes, while the outdoor pool deck and R+R Wellness Spa offer a restorative escape from the city’s buzz.

Lou/Na, the rooftop bar, offers panoramic views, live music, and inventive cocktails that somehow feel both extravagant and unfussy—the “Smoke Show”, served in a tiny treasure chest, is a must. Downstairs, Nashville Grange makes early breakfasts feel special, and Aurum Lobby Lounge glows in the evenings with live music and easy elegance.

Time Out tip: Be sure to reserve a table at Lou/Na for Sunset Social Hour (which is 5-7pm).

Long before Broadway turned into a neon carnival of celebrity-themed bars, Nashville’s heart beat along Music Row. Having worked here for nearly 15 years, I’ve watched it evolve from quiet, magnolia-lined streets of songwriter cottages into a skyline of glass towers. The Virgin Hotels Nashville, perched at the crossroads of the Gulch and Midtown, bridges that old-school charm with the city’s modern momentum—offering a convenient, stylish base for those who want proximity to the action without sacrificing peace and comfort. You can dive into Music City’s musical roots nearby—Historic RCA Studio B, Belmont University’s Gallery of Iconic Guitars, and the Country Music Hall of Fame are all just minutes away.

Inside, the Virgin feels true to its playful yet practical spirit. Its 262 “chambers” blend sleek design with homey touches—plush beds, separate dressing and sleeping areas, SMEG minibars, and amenities like robes, slippers, and yoga mats. They’re genuinely pet-friendly, too (no extra fees). While the touch-screen controls can be a little fiddly, the space itself feels thoughtfully planned and refreshingly quiet.

Beyond the rooms, Virgin Hotels Nashville shines through its communal spaces. The Funny Library Coffee Shop buzzes with remote workers and creatives, Commons Club serves solid cocktails and brunch in a laid-back yet polished setting, and The Pool Club on the 14th floor delivers sweeping skyline views, themed pop-ups, and plenty of energy—even in cooler months. For a nightcap, the Late Great bar channels Music Row’s artistic spirit with live sets and a speakeasy-like atmosphere. Service skews friendly if a bit youthful, and while Music Row itself isn’t a nightlife hotspot, its growing mix of cafes, bars, and restaurants makes this hotel an ideal perch.

Time Out tip: Book a daybed, cabana or sofa for the rooftop pool if you want a guaranteed spot.

4. The Hermitage Hotel

No expense was seemingly spared at the stunning Hermitage Hotel, a heritage property in the middle of the city. It’s not just its imposing facade, but the inside too, which is giving regal thanks to floral patterns, vintage furniture, panelled walls and marble columns. They have a self-proclaimed ‘Beaux Arts’ aesthetic, which blends Italian and French Renaissance features.

For a little backstory, this five-star hotel opened back in 1910 as the first luxury hotel in Nashville and has since become an iconic landmark, frequented by celebrities and politicians. For one more fun fact, it also has a famous bathroom—the men’s room here was once voted one of the world’s most Instagrammable bathrooms, so don’t be alarmed if you catch people snapping away. The rooms and suites continue this grandeur: simple and elegant, they’re decorated with fresh flowers, a twinkling chandelier and city views, while suites overlook the State Capitol building and have a spacious private living room.

Food at The Hermitage is exquisite, so you have to try it at least once. Their dining scene is led by renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and his flagship restaurant, Drusie & Darr serves up seasonal cuisine and Tennessee produce. His other little project is Pink Hermit, a cute cafe serving morning pastries and coffee, and vintage wines and light bites each evening. On top of these, you can also enjoy a delicately arranged afternoon tea on the veranda every weekend, for a really quite posh experience.

Time Out tip: If you’re visiting over the holidays, such as at Christmas or Thanksgiving, The Hermitage’s holiday buffets are a spread to behold. Food aside, they’re worth attending just to admire the gilded ceilings and mirrored archways in their Grand Lobby.

Address: 231 6th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37219
Price: From $524 per night for a Deluxe King
Nearest transport: You can catch the 3 or 7 bus to Downtown, about four blocks from the hotel, but Uber is easier. Nashville Airport is 15 minutes drive away.

5. The Dive Motel

Despite its name, this is definitely a place you want to stay. It’s been revamped into a trendy, adults-only hotspot (21+ only). Each of the 23 rooms is uniquely designed—and that’s an understatement. From huge murals of mountainscapes to disco balls and shag carpets, all we can say is: expect the unexpected. Cabin Kings are the coziest, with a log-cabin theme featuring wood cladding and rustic furnishings, while on the larger end, the two penthouse suites are tiled in eye-popping orange and boast striped armchairs and an old-school radio. Larger rooms also have lounge areas and a private outdoor terrace.

The room is only half the experience at The Dive Motel—you’ll also enjoy the pool, hot tub, and bar. The bar is half 1970s chic, half American diner, laden with retro fittings (including another disco ball), and serves all-day food, drinks, and regular live music events. But we recommend you spend most of your time hanging out at the pool and hot tub—it’s like stepping back in time with yellow umbrellas, simple deck chairs, and a big hand-painted “No Diving” sign. Note that it’s open seasonally (reopening May 2026). It’s a popular spot open to both the public and guests, so join the daily pilgrimage between the bar, pool, and hot tub and make some new friends!

Time Out tip: The Dive Motel hosts events almost every night, including live music, game nights, movie nights and comedy shows.

Address: 1414 Dickerson Pike, Nashville, TN 37207
Price: From $215 per night for a Cabin room
Nearest transport: There is a bus stop outside the hotel, the 23 runs to Downtown Nashville.

6. Dream Nashville by Hyatt

Expect total comfort and Hyatt perks without the five-star price tag at this hotel in downtown Nashville. Based on the interiors, you wouldn’t even realize it was part of a hotel chain—the design is unique and quirky. Black and white tiles mix with Turkish rugs and bougie strip lighting for a slightly chaotic but fun feel that perfectly reflects its location in Printers Alley.

There are 168 art deco–inspired rooms and suites that channel the hotel’s heritage while bringing all the modern comforts. Think high ceilings, midnight-blue and jewel tones, and perks like shuffleboard, private balconies, and Karl Lagerfeld toiletries in larger suites. We also can’t get over the outdoor firepit and skyline views from the Terrace Suite.

There are fun ways to upgrade your stay, too—from champagne and strawberries in your room to discounts on themed brunches and whiskey tastings nearby (the latter is included in your destination fee).

When you’re not sipping whiskey and trying local cuisine outside the hotel, you should definitely be doing the same thing on-site. Dream Nashville has multiple bars and restaurants, including local dishes at Stateside Kitchen, a glass atrium space designed by Meyer Davis Studio. Veggies can get their fix of avocado toast at Natura, while Sushi By Boū offers an intimate omakase experience. As for bars—Snitch emulates a classic dive bar with live music, craft beers, and flowing cocktails, while Parlour Bar is a quieter, more elegant space perfect for pre-show drinks. The standout, Dirty Little Secret, is a modern speakeasy with low lighting and fun cocktails where you can dance into the night.

Time Out tip: If you’re in town for the weekend, don’t miss the bottomless brunch at Stateside Kitchen every Friday, Saturday and Sunday—unlimited mimosas included.

Address: 210 4th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37219
Price: From $298 per night, depending on time of year
Nearest transport: There is a local bus stop opposite the hotel, but Uber and Lyft are more convenient. Nashville Airport is 15 minutes away by car.

7. Waymore’s Guest House

This laid-back pad is authentic Nashville, with nods to music all over the walls—guitars, records, and posters. The design is simple yet cool, thanks to soft velvet furniture in a range of bright colors, and wood and leather throughout the property.

The 93 rooms take the minimalist theme to heart, featuring huge beds, sleek dark wood floors, black-framed windows that look onto the city, and ultra-cool mini fridges made from Marshall amps. The King Bed Junior Suite is arguably the best of the bunch, with room for two plus a dining area and kitchenette for that late-night snack after a gig. Some suites also come with bunk beds if you’re traveling as a family.

The best thing about Waymore’s is that there’s always something going on—breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the All Day Café, which also has a full coffee bar if you need to perk up. Just upstairs is Tall Tales, the hotel’s rooftop bar, open from 4pm until late. It has unparalleled Music City views, handcrafted cocktails, and tasty bar snacks like hot Italian sliders and truffle fries. That’s just the start, though—they also host pop-up markets, live music, and even puppy meetups (yes, really), plus there’s a daily happy hour from 4-6pm or all day on Mondays—because Mondays, right?

Time Out tip: Guests of Waymore’s get complimentary access to the snazzy Gym5 just down the street.

Address: 811 Main St, 5th Floor, Nashville, TN 37206
Price: From $170 per night
Nearest transport: Nashville International Airport is approx. a 10-minute drive from the hotel

8. The Bankers Alley Hotel Nashville, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

It’s a Hilton, but not as you know it—this design-led hotel is filled with wall-to-wall art and holds the perfect location just a few steps from Broadway. There are beautiful framed pieces of art along every hallway—some areas even look like an art gallery—while the rest of the hotel’s interior is pared back and simple. Rooms and suites, decked out with feature walls, more gorgeous artwork, and homely furniture, overlook the city, and some have their own living room and sun-soaked terrace—the perfect spot to watch the sunrise over Nashville with a morning coffee.

Its central location, surrounded by some of Nashville’s best eateries and music venues, ensures you’ll want to venture out for activities or nights out. Big Machine Brewery and Distillery is just a 10 minute stroll away, as is Ole Red and the Johnny Cash Museum, but make sure to also have a look at what’s playing at the Ryman Auditorium.

However, there is still an excellent all-day dining option at Gray & Dudley, which transforms from a coffee bar in the morning into a cocktail lounge at night. They also have a grab-and-go counter for pastries and snacks and serve up a range of Southern-inspired dishes all day.

Time Out tip: Gray & Dudley isn’t just a pretty place to eat; they also have specials, such as regular $7 happy hours, Taco Tuesdays (with taco and tequila combos and $12 Don Julio cocktails) and Whiskey & Wine Wednesdays, featuring $20 flights.

Address: 221 2nd Ave N, Nashville, TN 37201
Price: From $248 per night for a King Room
Nearest transport: The Nashville Hop on Hop Off Trolley stops less than five minutes from the hotel

9. Moxy Nashville Downtown

If there’s a Moxy in the world that doesn’t have a super funky vibe, let us know, because their Nashville hotel certainly ticks that box. You’ll be kicking back in downtown Nashville right on Broadway, just around the corner from highlights such as the Country Music Hall of Fame—you can literally roll back from the bars into bed.

The hotel’s rooms and suites really tie into Nashville’s urban-chic feel, featuring exposed brickwork and floating beds with LED lighting underneath, and despite their name, the Windowless rooms are quite the opposite, boasting floor-to-ceiling glass for views of the busy street below.

We don’t blame you for ignoring this one, but there is a 24-hour fitness center should you want it. The hotel’s restaurant, Moxy Bar, serves coffee throughout the day and has a menu of classic Southern food, but more importantly, Bar Moxy (which is a confusing name, we agree) is the place to be every evening, where you can mingle with friends, grab a cocktail, and soak up the live music that’s performed on a small stage hung with classic guitars. But if you’re visiting when the weather’s warmer, then make sure to take the party outside at the alfresco Moxy Rooftop, one of the best terrace bars on Broadway, which combines delicious drinks with skyscraper views.

Time Out tip: If for any reason you’re forced to get some work done while in Nashville, Moxy has a handy Plug and Meet area. Decked out in cool vinyl records and with USB plugs, it’s a great, quiet area to catch up on emails.

Address: 110 3rd Ave S, Nashville, TN 37201
Price: From $207 per night
Nearest transport: The Nashville Hop on Hop Off Trolley stops at the corner of the hotel

10. Margaritaville Hotel Nashville

Margaritaville Hotels are known for fun, fun, and more fun, and in a city like Nashville—defined by great vibes and live music—this is the place to be. The hotel sits in the SoBro neighborhood, so you’ll be right in the heart of the action, surrounded by bars, clubs, and Nashville’s best restaurants.

Rooms here are exactly what you’d expect—very on brand with the lime-shaped cushions (to complement the slice in your marg at the bar later), witty slogans, and a design that oozes beach resort. Standard rooms are spacious, but the suites take things up a notch—the top-floor Jimmy Buffett Suite even has its own shuffleboard table, while the Livin’ It Up Suite overlooks the city and rooftop pool and comes complete with its own living, dining, and patio space.

You may have noticed we mentioned a rooftop: whether you’re day drinking or heading here when the sun goes down, there’s always something happening. You can lounge around by the pool, margarita in hand (naturally), or enjoy the sounds of the city from FINS Bar alongside a frozen drink and some snacks. It’s Nashville, after all, so you’ll usually find some live music up here during the week. Coming soon: a new mixology class for guests so you can make your margarita and drink it too.

The onsite JWB Grill is the hotel’s signature restaurant, and if you’re craving some Southern comfort food, you won’t go far wrong here. But given the hotel’s unbeatable location, we’d highly encourage exploring Nashville’s delicious dining scene if you have time.

Time Out tip: As with many hotels, there’s a $25 resort fee—but the plus side is that this gets you two free margaritas and discounted local attractions.

Address: 425 Rep. John Lewis Way S, Nashville, TN 37203
Price: From $244 per night
Nearest transport: Bus stop for WeGo bus Number 18 is approximately a 5-minute walk from the hotel

11. Motif Nashville’s Hotel on Music Row

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Nashville that really feels like home, Motif is just the spot. It’s got a sleek design that isn’t cold—you feel more like you’re crashing at a cool apartment than staying at a fancy hotel. The hotel is full of history too—it stands on the former site of United Artists Tower, a recording studio built by two musicians who were Elvis Presley’s backup singers. Some of the world’s most famous hits were recorded here, from Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” to “Blonde on Blonde” by Bob Dylan, so you’ll be staying at the heart of music history.

There are suites big enough for two, or four, or six, so whether you’re on a couple’s escape or traveling as a family, there’s plenty of room for everyone. Every single one comes with its own kitchen, complete with a fridge, oven, dishwasher, and microwave, plus all the crockery and utensils you’ll need to cook up a storm. There’s also a washer-dryer and two 50-plus inch televisions in each suite, alongside the comfy beds and spacious, well-lit bathrooms. And although you’re probably here on a quick trip, their studios and suites are also available on a long-term basis—something to consider once you’ve fallen in love with Nashville.

Although the property may look cozy, tucked away on Music Row, it actually hides a spacious rooftop pool on the third floor, which has a lounge and bar area and cabanas, plus a small fitness center and yoga studio. Although Motif doesn’t currently have its own restaurant, there’s word on the grapevine that a new dining concept will be coming to their ground floor very soon. In the meantime, head down Music Row for all the Southern food and live music you could ask for.

Time Out tip: Breakfast isn’t included at Motif, but if you don’t fancy a fry-up in your suite kitchen, the hotel desk can provide handy discount cards for nearby The Well and High Point Coffee.

Address: 50 Music Square W, Nashville, TN 37203
Price: From $134 per night, for a Studio Suite
Nearest transport: You can walk to Broadway in less than 20 minutes or grab an Uber or Lyft

12. Nashville Riverfront Lofts

Set in a historic location on 2nd Avenue, Nashville Riverfront Lofts is just as chic as it sounds. This vacation rental property is just a few steps (read: 30 feet) from Lower Broadway, meaning the city’s best music venues are within easy reach, but you’ll be staying away from the noise on the peaceful river. There are spaces to accommodate all group sizes too: rooms are perfect for couples—they’re no frills, with cozy lighting and a big king bed—but the lofts are where the real drama is at.

There are four lofts that sleep four, and each is a little different, from the sleek Whiskey Lounge Loft to the colorful Downtown Harmony Loft, and our favorite, the Nashville Riverfront Loft.

The latter has that New York penthouse feel with exposed brick, leather furniture, and timber floors. There’s also floor-to-ceiling river views, an upstairs master bedroom, and an open-plan living, kitchen, and dining room. As the lofts are designed for self-catering stays, there are no restaurants or extras to speak of, but rest assured, you’ll have Nashville’s best events, music, and eateries at your fingertips just around the corner.

Time Out tip: Not a fan of people? If you’re running late, don’t worry, the digital check-in process here is completely free of human interaction.

Address: 112 2nd Ave N, Nashville, TN 37201
Price: From $183 per night, depending on season, may be subject to a minimum stay of 2-4 nights
Nearest transport: The lofts are located right at the river end of Broadway, and Riverfront Station is less than a 5-minute walk. The airport is 15 minutes away by car.

13. TownePlace Suites Nashville Downtown/Capitol District

This Marriott property is in yet another handy location close to the Nissan Stadium and is well set up for short or long stays. The design is stylish: rooms have cute floral headboards and comfy green armchairs, so whether you’re staying in for the weekend or recovering from a night out, you’ll have somewhere comfy to relax. Larger rooms, such as the King Bedroom Suite City, have separate living rooms and a fully equipped kitchen, along with streaming services on the TV and a suntrap terrace for enjoying your morning coffee.

Another fun feature that families should take note of is in the Expandable Suite, so named because it has a bunk bed that descends from the ceiling (okay, it’s similar to a foldaway, but our description is much cooler).

Unlike many hotels, breakfast here is complimentary, so you can fuel up for a day of exploring, or if you’re not feeling anything heavy, simply grab a coffee, pastry, or sandwich for the road at their onsite café, Moonshot Coffee Bar. Our favorite place here, though, is Top Note, their rooftop bar. It’s an indoor-outdoor kind of place filled with comfy chairs and sofas inside, a menu of whiskey and Nashville hot chicken, and outdoors, candle-lit seating areas that surround flickering firepits, which means you can still enjoy some outdoor socializing even in winter.

Time Out tip: Included in your $20 destination fee here is a free drink, daily food credit, and free entry to the Country Music Hall of Fame, which is opposite the hotel.

Address: 310 Gay Street, Nashville, Tennessee, 37201
Price: From $176 per night for a Queen Studio, depending on the time of year
Nearest transport: The 56 bus (two blocks away) goes to Downtown, and the airport is a 10-minute drive
