Midtown’s cheekiest new dessert shop spins banana- and coconut-based soft serve into a dairy-free indulgence.

Miami, meet your newest sugar daddy. His name is Banana Daddy and he’s serving dairy-free soft serve with what the founders call unapologetic “Big Banana Energy.”
Opening tomorrow, February 27, at 3415 NE 1st Avenue in Midtown, the cheeky new concept swaps heavy cream for house-made coconut milk and bananas, turning them into a creamy swirl that’s sweet (but not cloying) and indulgent without the stomachache. The idea is a dessert that feels naughty but behaves nicely.
Banana Daddy was founded by two Miami couples, Tom Favorule and Jordan Frey, along with Chris and Emily Campbell. Favorule, a trained pastry chef who’s worked with Major Food Group and KYU, started tinkering at home to create a banana-based soft serve that didn’t taste like a compromise. According to the team, the goal was something smooth, rich and “unlike anything his friends had put in their mouths before.”
“We spent years perfecting these recipes because we refused to put anything out there that wasn’t exceptional,” Favorule said in a press release. “People may come in with preconceived notions about dairy-free dessert, but we only greenlight a recipe if it’s the absolute best version it can be.”
The menu leans into rotating soft-serve flavors like Big Banana, Coffee, Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla Protein, alongside signature sundaes with names like Gimme S’more, Berry Creamy, Daddy’s Classic and Pucker Up. There are also handcrafted protein shakes, parfaits, specialty iced coffees (banana iced coffee, anyone?) and fresh-baked treats made daily like carrot cake, blackout brownies, scones and coconut cake. Many options are gluten- and dairy-free, so your lactose-intolerant bestie can also join the fun.
The 1,500-square-foot space is as photo-ready as the swirls themselves, with bold interiors, neon signage, indoor and outdoor seating and a blurred banana wall that practically begs for a selfie. By day, it’s bright and breezy but by night, it aims to become a buzzy neighborhood hangout.
Banana Daddy is open Wednesday through Monday from 9am to 9pm (closed Tuesdays). Whether you swing by for a mid-afternoon protein swirl, a post-dinner sundae run or a coffee with a coconut twist, consider this your official excuse to embrace your soft-serve era—no dairy required.
