Air travel might finally have earned that round of applause when the pilot safely lands the plane, but for travelers flying out of Miami International, things are starting to look up. British Airways unveiled its second-largest airport lounge, and it's at Miami International Airport. Spanning 13,000 square feet, the lounge blends British elegance with Miami Art Deco charm, offering a luxurious retreat for travelers.

Located above Gate E20 in Concourse E, the lounge is divided into five distinct zones, each catering to different passenger needs. These include a central bar area, a main dining space, focus pods for work and a lowered central lounge with partitions for those seeking privacy. The design incorporates elements inspired by the London Underground and British Airways' aircraft, alongside Miami's iconic geometric patterns and colors. In a very cool move, some tables are crafted from recycled British Airways cabin crew uniforms, and a mirrored ceiling mural spells out "London Calling," adding a rock 'n' roll touch to the sophisticated setting.
The lounge features a full-service bar offering a selection of cocktails, including the "British G 'n' Tea" and a pick 'n' mix candy station offering both British and American faves. First Class passengers have access to the exclusive Concorde Dining Room, where they can enjoy upscale meals and unlimited Pommery Cuvée Louise champagne. Additional amenities include shower suites and runway views, enhancing the overall waiting experience.
This opening is part of British Airways' £7 billion transformation program, aiming to redefine premium travel. The Miami lounge, developed in partnership with global design firm Gensler, serves as a prototype for future international lounges. The airline plans to introduce similar designs in other locations, including an upcoming lounge at London Heathrow.
Access to the lounge is available to British Airways customers traveling in Club World (a.k.a. Business Class) or First Class, as well as to British Airways Club members with Silver status and above, and Oneworld customers with Sapphire status and above.
For travelers seeking a blend of luxury, comfort and innovative design, British Airways' new Miami lounge offers a glimpse into the future of airport hospitality—and raises the bar for every other lounge. Your move, Delta.
