South Pointe Park occupies the southernmost tip of Miami Beach. There's beach access (with a great view of massive cruise ships rolling in and out of Miami), a walkable pier and also some green space to spread a blanket and chill out.
Where to park at South Pointe Park
Parking in the South of Fifth neighborhood is notoriously tough, but you've got options. If a metered spot isn't available, try the lot adjacent to Smith & Wollensky (1 Washington Ave), or the public lot (3 Washington Ave). Whatever you do, don't illegally park in the Joe's lot or you will get towed. This is Miami Beach, after all. Consider getting around on Citi Bikes, which you can pick up just outside the park.
What to do at South Pointe Park
Stroll the 20-foot-wide promenade and take in Fisher Island across the water as yachts glide by. Keep walking and you’ll hit South Pointe Pier. Got kids in tow? Head to the motion-activated splash zone near the picnic and barbecue areas, where water cannons provide the right amount of controlled chaos. Prefer to move? The park’s winding paths are perfect for a run, bike ride, or skate session. Plus, there's a bark park on the west side for your pup to enjoy some off-leash fun.
