The milestone season puts two legendary HHN icons back in control: Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow. They preside over a lineup that combines major horror franchises with the elaborate original stories Universal has crafted for the occasion. Throughout the night, scare actors take over the streets while movie-quality sets turn familiar corners of the park into places you’ll want to escape as quickly as possible.
Whether you’re a devoted fan who plans an entire vacation around the event or you’re still working up the nerve to enter the fog for the first time, you need to go in with a plan. Here’s everything you need to know about Halloween Horror Nights 35, including the houses, scare zones, tickets, and strategies that will help you experience as much as possible.

Halloween Horror Nights 35 runs on select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026, at Universal Studios Florida. The event begins at 6:30 pm and typically continues until 2 am, although hours may vary by date and some houses open before the event officially kicks off.

Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control
Legendary Halloween Horror Nights icons Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow go head-to-head in this battle between chaos and control. The house explores their origin stories, then drops guests straight into the Oddverse.
H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular!
Cult-favorite horror host H.R. Bloodengutz is back on the airwaves for a Halloween scare-a-thon. Expect ghouls, gore, and a rotating lineup of nightmares. This house is perfect for the scaredy-cat in the group: light on gore and heavy on nostalgia.
MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals
Survivors look for shelter from a dystopian wasteland inside an abandoned zoo, only to find that warring cannibal factions have taken the animals' place and leaned all the way into their most primal instincts.
Cybergoria
Guests wake from cryogenic sleep expecting immortality, only to be greeted by something much worse. This may not be the event’s goriest house, but it is perhaps the most disturbing.
INVASION: Alien Abduction
An extraterrestrial attack rips through a Southwestern farm as guests dodge the Grays, probing tentacles, and other horrors from deep space.
Sinners
This house brings you straight into the Smokestack Twins' juke joint, where music and dancing lead to a vampire attack. The house brings Ryan Coogler's acclaimed horror film to life, including Smoke, Stack, and Remmick's gang of vampires.
Stranger Things 5
Head back to Hawkins for one last showdown against Vecna. Based on the Netflix series' final season, the house pits guests against Demogorgons, the Mind Flayer, and an ever-spreading Upside Down.
Hellraiser
Pinhead guides guests through the year’s most gruesome house pulled from the original Hellraiser trilogy. Expect chains, unsettling rituals, the franchise's signature mix of pain and pleasure, and way more moaning than you’ll be comfortable with.
Evil Dead Burn
The Book of the Dead sets another demonic nightmare loose inside a family's home. Pulled from the latest Evil Dead installment, the house is stacked with possessed Deadites and plenty of blood.
Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness
Heavy metal collides with horror in this tribute to Ozzy Osbourne's music. Guests wind through a landscape built from his lyrics, with his most popular songs playing throughout the house and cameos from the Prince of Darkness himself.
Scare zones at Halloween Horror Nights 2026
The scares continue between houses as Universal transforms sections of the park into five open-air scare zones filled with elaborate sets and roaming scare actors:
Infernal Carnival of Nightmares: Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow invite guests into a sinister carnival built around 35 years of HHN history.
Sideshow of Decay: Cindy uses Dr. Oddfellow’s dark magic to open a portal in a carnival junkyard, resurrecting forgotten nightmares from the event’s past.
FORTNITEMARES: The video game’s Halloween event escapes the island as the Storm unleashes familiar enemies, chaos, and surprises throughout the streets.
Downtown Clowntown: Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Art the Clown, and other murderous clowns take over the city, turning an ordinary walk through the park into a nightmarish circus.
Shows and extras to expect at HHN
Nightmare Fuel: Blood Noir: Nightmare Fuel tells an entirely new story this season, taking guests on a dark musical journey through a vampire-ridden metropolis. As usual, fans can expect aerial performances, pyrotechnics, dancers, death-defying stunts, and, new this year, water effects to help cool down.
Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins: This nighttime lagoon show revisits memorable moments from all five seasons of Stranger Things through music, projections, and a special broadcast from Hawkins radio station WSQK. Fans of the franchise might want some tissues ready for this surprisingly emotional show.
Club Horror: Take a break from the haunted houses at this late-night dance party, where dance music keeps the energy going before you hit another queue.
Roaming chainsaw hordes: Not every scare is confined to an official scare zone. Listen for the rev of chainsaws as roaming scare actors appear in unexpected corners of the park.
How to get tickets and passes for Halloween Horror Nights 2026
- Single-night tickets: Date-based tickets start at $87.99 plus tax and can reach $129.99 on peak nights. Friday and Saturday dates are generally the most expensive and the most likely to sell out.
- Express Pass: Halloween Horror Nights Express provides one-time expedited access to each participating haunted house and select attractions. It does not include admission to the event, so you’ll need to purchase both. If you’re attending only once and want to experience all 10 houses, it can be worth the additional cost.
- R.I.P. Tour: Universal’s guided VIP experience includes priority entry to the haunted houses, reserved show seating, and other tour benefits. Event admission is sold separately.
- Behind the Screams: Unmasking the Horror Tour: This daytime, lights-on tour offers a closer look at the sets, details, and storytelling inside select houses without the scare actors.
- Multi-night passes: Rush of Fear, Frequent Fear, Frequent Fear Plus, and Ultimate Frequent Fear passes cover different combinations of event nights. They’re designed for locals and dedicated fans who plan to return throughout the season.
- Premium Scream Night: This separately ticketed, limited-capacity experience is offered on August 27 and October 19. It includes shorter waits and select all-you-care-to-enjoy food.
Time Out tips for first-timers at HHN
- Visit on a weeknight, as Fridays and Saturdays generally draw the largest crowds. If you have daytime park admission or a Scream Early ticket, take advantage of Stay and Scream to remain inside Universal Studios Florida as it transitions into HHN. At least three houses open before the event officially begins, giving you a great head start.
- Prioritize the most popular intellectual-property houses early. Ozzy Osbourne and Sinners are among this year’s biggest draws and can develop lengthy waits during peak hours. Another strategy is to start with the houses toward the back of the park, since those near the entrance tend to fill first.
- Download the Universal Orlando app before arriving. Use it to check house wait times, find food locations, and build your route throughout the night.
- Wear comfortable shoes and pack light. You’ll spend hours walking and standing in queues, and Florida’s unpredictable fall weather makes a poncho a necessary addition.
- Stay on-site if your budget allows. Universal hotels provide complimentary transportation, a dedicated entrance into HHN, and a much shorter trip back to bed after a late night.
- Nervous guests should remember that there is no completely scare-free route through the park. You can sometimes avoid scare zones or cross them quickly, but the event is designed around loud noises, gore, and jump scares. Universal does not recommend HHN for children younger than 13.
- Leave room for the event-exclusive food and drinks. The 2026 menu includes Annie’s Juke Joint Catfish & Grits from Sinners, El’s Battery Jerky mac and cheese from Stranger Things 5, and the three-tiered Prince of Darkness carrot cake in honor of Ozzy.
