The beloved Collingwood-born brewery is turning 10 – and it's celebrating with a huge street party and a new venue outside of the city

A full decade after opening its Collingwood Beer Hall, Melbourne brewery Stomping Ground is gearing up for its next chapter – with a huge beer-fuelled street festival planned for November and a new brewery and beer hall in the works, set to open in Geelong in 2027.
First up: the fesi. Stompo Street Fest will take place on Saturday, November 14, with Islington Street and the Collingwood Beer Hall hosting a full day of live music, food stalls and DJs. The Triple M-curated line-up includes Steady Weather, Owelu Dreamhouse, Cool Sounds, Quality Used Cars and Sweetie – to name a few. We can also expect an oyster station, cocktails by Melbourne Gin Co, drag performances, circus acts, live art and free flash tattoos – with a dedicated kids zone inside the beer hall to keep the non-beer-drinkers happy.
The anniversary comes as the beloved beer brand prepares to expand beyond its existing Melbourne venues (Collingwood, Moorabbin and Melbourne Airport) – with a huge Geelong brewery and beer hall officially in the works, on track to open in 2027. Details on what to expect there are thin on the ground at this stage – we'll keep you posted. For context, the brand was initially founded in Collingwood in 2016 by Steve Jeffares, Guy Greenstone and Justin Joiner – established to combine craft brewing with a dedicated hospitality space. Since opening its Collingwood Beer Hall on Gipps Street, Stomping Ground says it has brewed more than 12 million litres of beer and released more than 500 styles. The Collingwood venue has been named Australia's Best Brewpub five times, so there are some serious creds behind the brand. The Geelong expansion will bring the delightfully chaotic beer hall vibe beyond the city.
Alongside the fesi, Stomping Ground is also marking its birthday with the release of a a limited-edition 10 Years of Beers mixed pack in early November, featuring a favourite brew from each year since 2016.
