The talented star has canned the New World Tour in Australia and New Zealand

Update November 22: In devastating news for Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) fans, the rapper-turned-actor has announced that his upcoming Australian tour is officially cancelled. This news may not come as a huge surprise for those closely following the artist, as he was also forced to cancel shows in North America and Europe last month.
Donald Glover posted on X in October, sharing that he would need to postpone the shows to focus on recovering from surgery for “an ailment that had become apparent". Now, Aussie fans have received an email from Ticketek with a new message from Glover.
“Unfortunately, my path to recovery is taking longer than expected”, reads the statement.
“The upcoming concerts in Australia and New Zealand are cancelled. One of the last things I'd ever want to do is disappoint my fans. I really appreciate the support you have shown and know that I will do what I can to give you an exceptional experience when the time is right. Thank you.”
If you’ve got a ticket, you can expect to receive an automatic refund from Ticketek to the buyer’s original payment method – although it will take up to 30 days to process. If you purchased through an agency or with a gift voucher, you’ll need to contact the company by December 20 to secure a refund.
We’ve got our fingers crossed that Glover’s recovery continues smoothly from here on out, and that a future reschedule could be on the horizon.
Fresh off the back of tour announcements from megastars Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish, there’s another huge concert to slot into our schedules (and our budgets). Fans have been waiting a long time for Childish Gambino to return to Australian shores and our patience has finally paid off!
The long-awaited Australia and New Zealand leg of Childish Gambino’s The New World Tour has been announced at long last, and it will give Aussies and Kiwis a fantastic way to start off 2025. We’ve gathered all the details below.
The New World Tour will arrive at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Friday, February 7 and a "second and final" show on Saturday, February 8 was announced during presale.
Clear your calendars for today, May 20. General sales for Melbourne begin at 1pm local time via Ticketek, while Sydney, Brisbane and Perth all get going at 11am local time.
For an artist as huge as Childish Gambino, of course! The American Express presale kicked off on Thursday, May 16. Frontier presale started on Friday, May 17 for Melbourne dates.
Ticket prices look a little something like this:
Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter Amaarae will be supporting Childish Gambino, in what will be her first big Australian tour.
Unlike some tours that have been announced recently, Childish Gambino is stopping all around the country and across the ditch. He’ll pop by Auckland’s Spark Arena on January 28, Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on February 1, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on February 4 and Perth’s RAC Arena on February 11.
