Time Out says

This grand cruise ship hasn’t sailed since the 1960s; these days, it multitasks as a rather muddled tourist attraction, several eating and drinking spots (the bar is a wonderful Art Deco glory) and a hotel. The boat, built in 1936, still looks stately from afar, but it hadn’t aged gracefully in every aspect: It was due for millions of dollars in repairs to prevent it from capsizing. After an extended closure, the renovated ship—now under full control of the City of Long Beach—is once again offering tours ($10) and slated to start overnight stays again soon.

All-American 4th of July on the Queen Mary

Watch the Long Beach fireworks from aboard the historic Queen Mary ocean liner after a day of live entertainment, family-friendly activities, food, games and dancing, plus a WWII aircraft flyover. At the time-traveling celebration, every area of the ship will re-create a different decade—from carnival games at the 1910s old-time fair on the Sports Deck to a 2000s hip-hop day party at the bow. The night culminates with fireworks over the ocean at 9pm.
