Los Angeles holidays just hit a new peak L.A. vibe: Bryan Cranston, Jean Smart, Noah Wyle and more will star in a one-night-only staged reading of A Christmas Carol—hosted and narrated by Tom Bergeron—at Burbank’s Garry Marshall Theatre on December 17, and it’s all for a good cause.

Cranston will play Ebenezer Scrooge, the miser whose Christmas Eve encounters with three spirits inspire a change of heart. Smart, the Emmy-winning Hacks star, will appear as the Ghost of Christmas Past, while The Pitt lead Wyle plays Fred, Scrooge’s nephew. Connor Tomlinson rounds out the central quartet as Bob Cratchit, Scrooge’s beleaguered employee.

The ensemble also includes Clancy Brown, Dorian Harewood, Samantha Sloyan, Tal Anderson, Chelsea Darnell and Spencer Harte. Victor Nelli directs the performance, which will take the form of a radio play complete with live music and a Foley artist creating theatrical sound effects in real time.

The event is presented by The Ed Asner Family Center, the nonprofit founded by Matthew Asner and Navah Paskowitz-Asner in honor of the late Mary Tyler Moore Show and Lou Grant star. The organization supports neurodivergent individuals and their families through mental health services, arts and enrichment programs, social opportunities and employment pathways.

The evening will also honor Vicki Dummer, head of current programming at Warner Bros. Discovery, for her commitment to inclusive storytelling and the neurodivergent community.

Here’s the catch for anyone hoping to see this A-list gathering in person: The theater will accommodate just 75 guests. In-person tickets cost $500 and include the performance, holiday-themed food and drinks before and after the show, and a specially curated gift bag.

For everyone else, there’s a livestream. Streaming tickets will cost $20 during a 24-hour presale beginning Saturday, October 24, at noon Pacific time, then rise to $25 starting at noon PT on Sunday, October 25.

The performance begins at 7pm on Thursday, December 17, at the Garry Marshall Theatre, 4252 West Riverside Drive in Burbank. In-person tickets and livestream information are available through The Ed Asner Family Center. For more information, click here.
