BeautyCon is going back to school, and this time, the syllabus includes skincare, makeup, wellness, and Cardi B.
Presented by Refinery29, BeautyCon University is taking over Rolling Greens DTLA on Saturday, September 19, turning the beauty convention into a one-day campus of sorts, complete with celebrity “professors,” beauty lessons, creator conversations, brand activations and plenty of opportunities to grab swag bags.

Among the biggest names on the roster is Keke Palmer, who has been named the event’s official “dean of wellbeing” and will be in attendance representing her fitness platform Practice by Palmer. Cardi B is also joining the lineup with her Grow Good line, adding serious celebrity firepower to the beauty-focused gathering.
The university concept puts education at the center of this year’s BeautyCon. Instead of simply wandering between booths and collecting samples—which, to be fair, remains one of the great pleasures of any beauty convention—the event is promising masterclasses, conversations with creators and experts, immersive brand experiences and insider advice on beauty and wellness.
“As beauty continues to evolve, audiences want more than a front-row seat to the latest trends—they want to understand them, participate in them and learn from the people driving the industry forward,” Refinery29 chief content officer Brooke DeVard said in a statement.

The faculty reflects that goal, with Beyonce's makeup artist Sir John as head of class and professor of face. Beauty creator and entrepreneur Glamzilla will be dean of art, while Chillhouse founder and CEO Cyndi Ramirez-Fulton serves as dean of business. Soko Glam and Then I Met You cofounder Charlotte Cho will be dean of history.
For Angelenos who have missed BeautyCon’s particular combination of celebrity culture, beauty shopping and organized chaos, the return is welcome news. And unlike actual college, there’s no four-year commitment, no student loans and no reason to pretend you understand organic chemistry.
