Time Out says

A smoke break doesn’t mean that you’ll miss the show at Hollywood's the Fonda Theatre (formerly the Music Box), where not only is the music hooked up to the rooftop "speakeasy," but the live on-stage performance is projected on the exterior wall. Unfortunately, you do have to buy tickets to the gig to gain entrance, but the prime perch—lounge on one of the scattered sofas on the outdoor patio—from the historic Spanish Revival-style building offers an unobstructed view of Hollywood as you listen to indie faves like Alt-J and the Alabama Shakes. Throw back a brewski and gaze down the boulevard as you channel your inner Dracula, first performed on the Fonda stage in 1930. Or, you know, watch the concert inside—that's also good.

‘Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend’ live taping

Between his long-running late-night shows, the Oscars, a travel series and podcast, Conan O’Brien is literally the host with the most—and now you can watch as he tries to make a friend at a live taping of the latter. Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend heads to the Fonda on October 5 with a surprise guest. You can’t simply just buy a ticket, though; instead, you’ll need to submit an entry by October 1 for a chance to attend.
