Time Out says

Lacquer may seem like a modern material, but it’s been used in Japan for over 7,000 years. Urushi (lacquer) has been used to create all manner of objects and art, and for centuries, lacquer-making techniques have developed locally while reflecting cross-cultural influences from Asia. This free display at the V&A highlights the material and explores how it’s being used artistically in the 21st century. Look out for beautiful resin sculptures and other objet d’art.
