The finest chocolate events in London
The Chocolate Museum is a small but informative tribute to every aspect of chocolate-making, featuring rare tools, replica Mayan artefacts and an exhibition explaining the history of the treat. South London producers Melange Chocolates run regular truffle-making courses at the museum, during which you'll pick up professional techniques such as tempering, enrobing and – of course – tasting.
Rococo’s flavoured bars are justly popular (the rose flavour is heavenly) and the novelties – among them hand-painted chocolate sardines, and jersey new potatoes with mint (made from hazelnut praline, white chocolate and mint leaves) – always raise a smile. But it's the sea salt hot chocolate you must save space for. Its base is a 75 per cent cocoa drinking chocolate blend, and you can have an espresso-style shot or a milky mug. Either way it comes with a truffle.

This special workplace provided sugary goods for not one but three kings: William III, George I and George II. It was used as a storeroom for many years but lots of the original fittings and furniture are still in great condition.
As well as being the bean-to-bar chocolate factory for all Mast Brothers chocolate bars sold in the UK, this Shoreditch shop boasts an impressive drinks menu. Their non-alcoholic chocolate beer is light, flavoursome and fragrant.
