If your memories of Harvest Festival involve bringing a tin of baked beans into primary school for a special assembly, it's time to update them. A lively autumn knees up at Big Penny Social will help you celebrate the bounty of the season with country-style entertainments including a barn dance and morris dancing, as well as live music and a DJ. There'll also be a pop-up food donation and fundraising point in support of Eat or Heat, a local Waltham Forest food bank.
It's all part of the Blackhorse Lane Beer Mile, a nine-venue trail highlighting the best breweries, wineries, distilleries and taprooms along Blackhorse Lane. Other venues taking part in the harvest festivities include Renegade Urban Winery, you can enjoy free wine tours and tastings on the hour from 12pm to 6pm. Pretty Decent Beer Co will mark the launch of their brand-new beer 'Harvest Hoedown' country and western tunes and picklebacks. And Burnt Faith will be pouring apple harvest-inspired spirits and cider: perfect for enjoying alongside an outdoor hog roast by Black Cactus BBQ for a delicious taste of autumn.
