Rosalind Adler and Lea Sellers’ new play concerns the great Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich and his efforts to tiptoe around Stalin’s regime of terror, a time when he was outwardly compliant to the authoritarian regime, but still slipped subversive messages into his music. Kate Fahy directs a four-strong cast – none of whome seem to be playing Shostakovich, intriguingly.
