Squeeze through this Italian-slanted delicatessen to the tiny tearoom at the back, where the beaming patron will attend to you. Cakes are made by ‘small scale local suppliers’ (by which we imagine they mean Dulwich mums at their Agas), and you can taste the love that has gone into them. There are also light snacks such as salads and cold meats, but our top tip is the bagels – warmed, not toasted, and made to order with delicious fillings such as parma ham, cream cheese and nectarine or milano salami, mustard and cornichons. There’s limited space inside, so take one away and enjoy it on a stroll along the lanes of nearby Dulwich Park.
