Nothing beats a stroll around Covent Garden. The West End neighbourhood is packed with iconic spots from its glorious market and the Royal Opera House to more bars and restaurants than you can shake a stick at. But soon, spending an afternoon in Covent Garden will become that much sweeter. Literally. Three new bakeries and cafes are about to make the central London location home.
First up is Copain, which will thrill croissant enthusiasts as it’s the bakery’s first outlet outside of Paris. Expect freshly baked breads (let’s face it, the French do this best), cakes and a selection of savoury treats.
Next, Oliphant & Pomeroy brings its first bricks-and-mortar site after building a following in Bicester Village and Ashford. Alongside classics like chocolate and salted caramel buns, it also offers a range of vegan treats. The plant-based cinnamon buns sound like a winner.
Finally, Danish coffee bar Hagen adds a touch of Scandi cool to Covent Garden. Inside, you’ll find blue velvet furnishing, brown marble, wood pannelling and a dedicated brew bar. Pair one of its expertly crafted coffees with baked treats like banana bread or a blueberry slice, and you’ve got a cosy, Instagram-worthy spot to linger.
These three new additions to Covent Garden’s dining and drinking scene are in good company. Here are the best London restaurants opening in October.
