What are you doing in London this weekend? Checking out Frieze Sculpture? Watching Amar Kanwar films at the Serpentine? Dancing away at AVA? Cheering on the Three Lions at England v Spain? Whatever you’re up to, you’ll want to know about planned disruption on Transport for London services.
September 26-27 will see a fair bit of disruption on London’s tubes and trains. Notably, much of the Piccadilly and Central lines will be down from the wee hours of Saturday morning right through to Monday. The DLR and Elizabeth line will also have some service changes.

London travel disruption and tube closures, September 26-27 2026
Piccadilly line
- On Saturday September 26 (from 2am) and Sunday September 27 (all day), no trains between Uxbridge and Cockfosters.
- Trains will still run between Acton Town and Heathrow.
Central line
- On Sat Sep 26 (from 5.30am) and Sun Sep 27 (all day), no trains between Liverpool Street and Woodfood/Newbury Park.
- On Sat Sep 26, 2.10am to 5.30am, no night tube between Marble Arch and Loughton/Hainault.
District line
- Westbound trains will not call at Barons Court until late 2026. If travelling west from the station, go one stop east to West Kensington and then change trains for westbound services. Do the reverse if coming to Barons Court.
DLR
- On Sun Sep 27 no trains between Tower Gateway and Shadwell.
Elizabeth line
- On Sun Sep 27, no trains between West Drayton and Maidenhead between 1.20am and 8am.
- All day Sun Sep 27, reduced service between Paddington and Heathrow/Maidenhead
Waterloo and City line
- Closed on weekends and bank holidays, as always (but could that change?).
Wembley Stadium travel disruption
On Sat Sep 26, England v Spain at Wembley Stadium will disrupt the following services:
- Wembley Central station’s (Bakerloo and Lioness lines, Southern services) main High Road entrance will be exit-only until queue clears (disruption expected 9.40pm to 10.30pm).
- Wembley Park station’s (Jubilee and Metropolitan lines) Bridge Road entrance will be exit-only until the queue clears (disruption expected from 9.30pm to 10.25pm).
