Award-winning Manchester bar Schofield’s – one of the best cocktail bars in the world – is moving to London

Since bursting, with a bang, onto the UK cocktail scene in 2021, Schofield’s Bar in Manchester has hoovered up more accolades than it can feasibly stack on a single shelf. Recognised by The World’s 50 Best Bars in 2022 and 2023, it has twice scooped the title of best bar in the UK at the Class Bar Awards and topped the UK’s Top 50 Cocktail Bars in 2024. Yep, to say the bar is well decorated feels like an understatement.

Luckily for us Londoners, we soon won’t need to venture north to try out these prize-winning pours, because Schofield’s Bar is opening a second site right here in the Big Smoke.

Mancunian brothers Joe and Daniel Schofield, who run the eponymous bar, are veritable veterans of the global cocktail scene, with big-name bars including Tippling Club in Singapore and Coupette and The American Bar at The Savoy in London gracing their combined CV. Their southern sequel, the creatively named Schofield’s Bar London, is set to open in early November, though we’ll have to wait until closer to the time to find out the exact date of its debut.

The duo have reportedly been hunting for the perfect venue for close to three years, and have secured a site in Covent Garden. The exact location is also currently under wraps, but we do know that, once open, the space will consist of three main areas – a ground floor with capacity for 20-30 guests, a basement which can squeeze up to 50, and a terrace with 15-20 seats. 

As for the all-important drinks, well, around 90 percent of the OG menu will be making the commute daan saaf, and we can expect classics from the Manny menu including the Irish Coffee. 

Joe Schofield said of the new venue: ‘We’re really excited to bring Schofield’s Bar to London and to continue the legacy we’ve built in Manchester. For us, that legacy has always been rooted in genuine hospitality, classic cocktails and creating a bar that feels timeless.

‘London will have its own personality, but those values will remain at its heart. We want it to feel unmistakably Schofield’s Bar whilst beginning a new chapter in a city we have both called home during our careers.’
