We’re now deep into the summer holidays. And if you’re thinking of taking the kids into London (or have done already) – we salute you. From making sure you have ample snacks to avoiding temper tantrums and keeping track of your whole brood through the crowds, there are enough logistics to deal with without the added stress of realising that the tube you had planned to catch isn’t running.

So, let us make life that little bit easier for you. We’ve rounded up all the closures, cancellations and reduced services that TfL has planned this week so you can plan ahead if needed.

While there may be unexpected delays, the good news is that there’s actually not a lot of planned disruption you need to know about during the day from Monday to Friday. Here are the train closures and disruptions that we know are happening across London from August 11 to August 15.

RECOMMENDED: The best things to do in London this week

Mildmay line

For anyone travelling east to west this week – keep in mind that every day from Monday to Thursday, the 10.29pm Mildmay train from Stratford to Richmond will terminate at Camden Road at 10.49pm.

You should also expect delays on Monday and Tuesday following a track side fire in the Homerton area.

Windrush line

After 9.15pm each evening from Monday to Thursday, there’ll be no Windrush line between Highbury & Islington and New Cross Gate / New Cross / Clapham Junction / Battersea Park. TfL recommends that you use Mildmay line services between Highbury & Islington, Canonbury and Dalston Kingsland instead. There will also be replacement buses running.

Also from 9.15pm across those days, there will be reduced Windrush services between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/ West Croydon, with trains only running every 30 minutes. TfL says that anyone wanting to get to Crystal Palace should use the first available train from London Overground or Southern Railway or local bus connections to or from Anerley.

Station closures

Cutty Sark (DLR)

Be aware the Cutty Sark station is closed until spring 2026 while its four escalators are replaced. The nearest alternative is Greenwich DLR station.
