London travel disruption this weekend: full list of tube and train closures for August 1-3

The Piccadilly line, District line and London Overground will all see closures and reduced services this weekend

Ready for the weekend? Of course you are. Payday has landed, the sun is set to make its return, and as ever London will be bursting with things to do.

Oasis’s ongoing reunion gigs are the major thing happening over the next few days. But if you’re not one of the tens of thousands of people to have nabbed tickets, there’s loads of other great stuff to fill your diary with, like BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, a ton of really cool art exhibitions and loads of outstanding new theatre shows

Whatever you’re getting up to this weekend, it’s likely that you’ll have to use public transport to get there. So, to help you get around without a hitch, here are all the planned closures and disruptions happening across London for the first weekend of August.

Getting to Oasis at Wembley Stadium 

Good news! There will be no major closures or planned disruption on any of the Tube and train lines that serve Wembley Stadium when Oasis are back on August 2 and 3. Find our full guide to getting the tube or trains (or cars, buses or coaches) to Wembley here.

District line

From Saturday to Sunday, you won’t be able to get the District line from Turnham Green to Ealing Broadway.  

Piccadilly line

All day Saturday (from 6am) and all day Sunday, there won’t be any Piccadilly line trains between Kings Cross St Pancras and Osterley / Uxbridge. TfL says you can use the Metropolitan line between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge or a replacement bus. 

From 12.45am to 6am on Saturday, there’ll be no services between Kings Cross and all Heathrow terminals.

DLR 

You won’t be able to get the DLR between Poplar / Stratford International and Beckton / Woolwich Arsenal on Saturday or Sunday. The alternative options are Jubilee line trains between Stratford and Canning Town, Lizzie line services between Custom House and Woolwich or replacement buses. 

Mildmay line 

On Friday there won’t be any Mildmay services from Willesden Junction to Shepherd’s Bush until 6.15am. Then on Saturday the Willesden Junction to Shepherd’s Bush service will finish at 7.30pm. 

From 7.30pm on Saturday to 10.15am on Sunday, Mildmay trains from Shepherds Bush to Clapham Junction will only run every 30 minutes. Southern services between the two stations will be running as normal, though. 

Suffragette line

Suffragette trains won’t be running between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside on Sunday. 

Weaver line

There’ll be no Weaver line trains between Hackney Downs and Chingford after 10.45pm on Sunday. 

Windrush line

Sunday’s Windrush trains between Wandsworth and Clapham Junction won’t start until 10.15am.
