Bent coppers, beware! Line of Duty series seven is due in the new year and around the same time you’ll be able to try your own hand at foiling police corruption and trying to remember who H was supposed to be. Line of Duty: Operation Echo is a new immersive experience landing on the streets of London.
Although the likelihood of a shockingly abrupt death is presumably lower than in the Jed Mercurio-helmed TV show (to be clear we’re expecting the odds of this to be zero) it does sound all very thrilling. You and your team of two-to-eight players are sent to roam the streets of central London in a four-to-five kilometre, two-to-three hour adventure that will see you ping between locations where you’ll ‘uncover clues, solve escape room-style puzzles, decipher riddles and wrestle with moral dilemmas’ as you look into another explosive case of perfidious police corruption.
It’s the latest from CityDays, who offered similar puzzle-solving based city experiences for the likes of The Traitors and Race Across the World.
The immersive show is not written by Mercurio and it’s unclear if it will have any bearing on series seven, which should be screening around the time Operation Echo launches. We’d guess it won’t, but it’s officially enforced and the odds are at least one of the core cast members might have pre-recorded a bit of dialogue. Though if Adrian Hilton isn’t on hand to do a load of fruity swearing: you’re very welcome to do it yourself.
