American fast-food chains try their luck over here in Britain all the time, but it’s hard to think of a more hyped brand launch in recent years than Dave’s Hot Chicken. The fried chicken joint – famously backed by Drake and Samuel L Jackson – launched its first UK edition on Shaftesbury Avenue in December 2024, and regularly boasts a queue winding well around the corner.
At its peak, the West End Dave’s Hot Chicken apparently saw four-hour-long queues. Still yet to taste what the hype is all about? Well, this week you’ll have the opportunity to do so completely for free. For one day only Dave’s is giving away millions of its ‘sliders’ across the country, including at its London restaurant.
The free chicken sandwiches will be available on Dave’s Free Slider Day – AKA Thursday October 23 2025. To get your freebie, all you have to do is download the Dave’s Hot Chicken app, which is available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and show up.
A total of 69 million sliders are up for grabs across the UK on Thursday, and there’s a limit of one slider per person. The idea is that Dave’s Hot Chicken is giving away enough sliders that everyone in the UK can have one.

Dave’s Free Slider Day will come just too late for London’s second outpost of the fried chicken chain. Dave’s Hot Chicken is opening its next restaurant in the capital at Westfield White City on Friday October 24.
